What is CSTA?

Open-CSTA review

Ecma invited experts from ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 6 and ETSI/OSA to help draft Ecma’s technical comments and proposed dispositions to JTC 1’s fast track. After experts registered here, they were able to issue, discuss their technical comments and dispositions on the standards: ECMA-269 and ECMA-323. This review closed 8 June 2007 (one month before the 5-month ballot closes). Thereafter, Ecma issued finalised comments and proposed dispositions on ISO/IEC DIS 18051 and DIS 18056 to JTC 1. Although ECMA-348 will not yet be fast tracked, we equally like to invite comments on it.

ISO/IEC JTC 1 approved ISO/IEC 18051 and 18056 in their 5-month fast track ballot as the 4th and 3rd editions respectively.

Procedure on the Invitation for open review of ECMA-269 and ECMA-323.

Activities

TG11 started to work on a Technical Report that illustrates how CSTA features can be used to support Unified Communication applications. The TR will illustrate the use of CSTA for e.g. Mobility and advanced collaboration, including the use of Web Services.
