Ecma helps to understand chemical emissions

Standard facilitates comparison of electronic equipment

Geneva, 12 September 2007

Ecma International applauds the publication of ISO/IEC 28360 on the determination of chemical emissions from electronic equipment. This new standard facilitates comparison of products based on the amount of emitted substances.

The global ISO/IEC Standard is the result of successful cooperation between industry, research institutes, ISO/IEC JTC 1 and Ecma International.

Experts in Ecma standardised operation procedures and measurement methods in ECMA-328 to determine release rates of emitted substances from printers and other electronic equipment.

ISO/IEC 28360 and the 3rd edition of ECMA-328 are fully aligned.
