Standard ECMA-285
Protocol for Computer Supported Telecommunications
Applications (CSTA) Phase III
2nd edition (June 2000)
This Standard specifies application protocol data units (APDUs) for the services described in
ECMA-269
ECMA-269 defines Services for Computer Supported Telecommunications Applications (CSTA) Phase III.
The field of application of this Standard is the interconnection of switches and computers in a private telecommunication environment.
Phase III of CSTA extends the range of features offered by CSTA Phase II.
This standard also provides a Protocol Implementation Conformance Statement (PICS) Proforma to assist implementers.
This, 2nd edition of ECMA-285 is aligned with the 4th edition of ECMA-269, which has been superseded by the 6th edition. The 6th edition of ECMA-269 contains fixes to problems found in earlier editions. Therefore, the 2nd of ECMA-285 has known issues.
Further information on the CSTA topic is also available.

The file ecma-285-source_files.zip contains the following files:
- ECMA-285-asn.txt - This file, derived from ECMA-285, 2nd edition, contains the ASN.1 source file that can be used with many industry compilers.
- acse_user_info_csta2.txt - This file specifies the "CSTAFunctionality" parameter type that is defined in ECMA-218 (CSTA Phase II Protocol). It needs be compiled with the above file (See 8.2.2 in ECMA-285).
- rose94.txt - This file specifies the Remote Operations ASN.1 definitions. It
may be required by come compilers that do not provide the Remote Operations
definitions automatically.
- readme.txt - This file contains the above description.
Note: depending upon the compiler used, two duplicate tags can be expected (Reject, ACSEUserInformationForCSTA). These are normal and should not affect the compiled output.
