This Standard ECMA-17 provides for a graphical representation of the control characters of columns 0 and 1 of the ECMA 7-bit coded character set for information interchange (Standard ECMA-6). It also provides for the normally non-printing character SPACE (position 2/0 of the Code Table) and for the character DELETE (position 7/15 of the Code Table).
The Standard comprises two alternative sets of representations:
i) a pictorial representation,
ii) an alphanumeric representation.
